The Free Application for Student 援助 (FAFSA)
File your FAFSA each year to be reviewed for federal and Virginia state financial aid programs and for institutional scholarship and grant programs. For maximum scholarship and financial aid consideration file your FAFSA and the General Scholarship Application by 1月22日.
Federal Student 援助, the office of the US Department of Education that manages the FAFSA, notified colleges and universities in early 2023 that the 2024-2025 FAFSA will not be available by it's regular open date of 10月1日. The 2024-2025 FAFSA will now be available on December 31.
The Virginia Alternative State 援助 (VASA) application
Review this option if you are a Virginia student otherwise ineligible to file the FAFSA. Virginia Tech's priority filing deadline for state aid programs is 3月1日.

Virginia Tech partners with KHEAA for the verification process. 学生 selected to verify their FAFSA data will receive an email with instructions on how to complete verification with KHEAA. For additional information and KHEAA contact information, click the 验证 heading above.
Important Financial 援助/Scholarship Dates
- 8月下旬 - VT Scholarship Central opens for prospective and current students
- 10月1日 - The Free Application for Federal Student 援助 (FAFSA) opens. (请注意, Federal Student 援助 notified colleges and universities that the 2024-2025 FAFSA will not open on 10月1日, 2023. We will update this date as soon as we know when the 2024-2025 FAFSA will be available.)
- 1月22日 - deadline to complete the FAFSA and General Scholarship Application for maxmimum scholarship and financial aid consideration
- 2月下旬 - Early Action admissions notifications sent including financial aid/scholarship notifications
- 3月1日 - priority deadline for Virginia State Financial 援助 Programs and institutional aid
- 3月初 - Regular Decision admissions notifications sent including financial aid/ scholarship notifications
- 6月初 - continuing student financial aid/scholarship notifications sent
- 七月中旬 - fall semester bills available
- 8月10日 - fall semester bills due
